For a full-time student and part-time teacher, good light that doesn’t contribute to eyestrain is critical. Add the needs of warding off the pall of long, dark, gloomy winters in a rented vanilla box in a student town with no car. I used to feel tired and sleepy all the time in winters, and always craved “more light.” Answer:le lamp. I’m really glad I purchased these bulbs. No eyestrain, no sleepiness/tiredness; in fact, the only ‘negative’ effect is that they actually keep me awake and alert for far too long:) I have to step away from them about 2 hours before bedtime in order to feel naturally sleepy. But I really couldn’t care less because they do the real job.

These use 1/4th of the energy of incandescent bulbs, and are full spectrum, and last about 10K hours? What’s not to like?

Verilux is a great full-spectrum bulb, wonderful for reading. This item is a package of two bulbs. They are packed like a book, which does not need extra padding for protection. Consequently, one bulb was broken during shipment. On the "easy return" label, there was no address.

After years of purchases and several thousand dollars, this is the only complaint I have ever had about anything I've ordered from Amazon! Not bad!

I think thaat this lightbulb is excellant. I suffer from SAD during the winter months, when there is no sun. Since I live in Washington state, there is “no sun” most of the year. When I get SAD, I turn to my lightbox for help, but my husband took it for a reading lamp, so these lightbulbs are a real “lifesaver”. I have already told someone else about them and she ordered some. Thank you.

I use this bulb for taking pictures, the color is accurate so the WB is exactly like the of the Sun. Next time I should buy 26w ones.
