i read many reviews b4 buying this product, on home depot and walmarts sites, and everyone had the same complaint – the handle comes apart when you use it. instead of a screw in handle, the handle just presses together, so of course the action of you pushing and then pulling causes the handle to pop out – and the handle is in 4 different pieces, so one or the other pops out everytime.

i have taped it together, but the bottom joint is not easy to tape on, i have to work on that one, maybe i will epoxy it.

i bought it anyway even after reading the reviews because if you fiddle with it, then it works good – but really bissel should take note, and change the design

As pointed out the handle will come apart constantly but a few screws at the joints is an easy fix. This sweeper was narrower than I had expected at 7 1/2″ for the brush and 9 1/2″ overall width. It works well, is easy to empty and the big plus is it has dual brushes. It is as light as any yet seems to be made well enough to stand up over time.

The Bissell natural sweep dual brush sweeper does what I bought it for: it picks up grains of clumping cat litter that get deposited on our hallway carpeting outside our utility room where the litter box is. The sweeper also picks up cat hair well on a smooth surface area rug. I love the light weight, ease of use and quiet operation compared to using a heavy, noisy vacuum for a small task, and it is easy to empty.

I actually wanted to purchase a different Bissell sweeper model, but this is the only one that I could find for sale in my town, so I gave up and bought it. I saved my receipt because I expected that I would want to return it.

First of all, the instructions for assembly are printed in light green on the inside flap of the box. I followed them and it assembled very quickly. The handle is made of several tapered metal tubes that have to be nested inside one another. I put a newspaper down on our brick hearth and really jammed that handle down to secure the tapered tubes. They went together really snugly. I can’t pull them apart now if I wanted to, and they are easily hefty-enough to handle the initial abuse. Then you just screw the handle onto the cleaning head, being careful to secure it tightly, and it’s ready to go.

I have three kids – 8, 6, and 1. There are food particles on my floor all the time. I bought the sweeper to take over for my broom which gets used about six times daily. At first I was really dissappointed with it’s performance on my linoleum floor. It didn’t pick up anything. The cheerios just got pushed around. I flipped it over and realized that the brush rollers are positioned up off of the floor slightly, to accommodate carpet pile. However, the wheels are able to flex up into the sweeper body, so I decided to try it again, pushing down on the handle firmly to ensure contact between the sweeper rolls and the linoleum. Presto! It works like a charm, and picks up everything.

I have been using it now for several days, and I have definitely decided to keep it. It’s “loosening up” a bit, and really works well. It won’t replace my broom for more detailed cleaning, but I love the time it saves me for keeping things tidy. Last night it picked up about a half-cup of sticky angel hair pasta from under the high chair.

I bought this yesterday after my electric Bissell stopped working properly. I think a cordless sweeper is perhaps the only product I HAVE to replace the day it stops working! It is something I use several times a day. I used it first on my carpet. It worked OK, but wouldn’t pick up a leaf. No big deal. Then I tried it on my bamboo kitchen floor. It didn’t get half of what my electric Bissell picked up. I went over popcorn several times and it wouldn’t pick it up. It doesn’t get in corners at all. I just won’t keep a product that is going to leave me needing ANOTHER product to clean up behind it! It’s going back to the store pronto! The handle is also a BAD design. It needs to actually screw together to be sturdy.
